General Description
The AS5050A is a new version of the AS5050. It is a 10-bit rotary position sensor (previously known as encoder) for absolute angular measurement over a full turn of 360° based on contactless magnetic sensor technology. This device fits perfectly for on-axis applications where a simple 2-pole magnet rotates above or below the sensor IC. The absolute magnet angular position is measured with a resolution of 10 bit = 1024 positions per revolution and it is provided as a digital value on the serial interface (SPI).

The USB Interface & Programmer Box is an universal evaluation tool for magnetic position sensors with I2C or SPI interface. It comes with a 10-way cable to connect to a supported product on an existing board. The I2C or SPI wires are used for the communication (3.3V mode) and additionally the sensor can be powered from the USB I&P Box. By using the USB I&P Box Software, it is possible to read out the sensor data, write a configuration and to permanently program a configuration.
