근접 감지 센서는 반사된 적외선 (IR) 에너지를 측정하여 물체나 사람의 존재를 감지합니다. 이 기기에는 LED 드라이버가 내장되어 있으며 일부 기기에는 LED가 통합되어 있습니다. 근접 감지 기기는 프로그램이 가능한 4개의 LED 구동 전류와 IR 펄스 반복을 제공합니다. 근접 감지 회로는 주위의 빛을 보상해주므로 밝은 태양광이 비추는 곳에서부터 어두운 실내까지 다양한 환경에서 사용할 수 있습니다. 다이내믹 레인지가 넓으므로 휴대전화와 같이 어두운 색상의 유리 뒤에서 근거리를 감지하는 분야에 사용할 수 있습니다. 근접 감지 센서는 기계식 스위치를 대신하거나 사람의 제스처를 감지하는 데 사용될 수 있습니다.
