ams welcomes U.S. athletes to Austria for Special Olympics

Premstaetten, Austria (7 March, 2017) -- ams AG (SIX: AMS), a leading provider of high performance sensor solutions, today announced the three day program for its US guests in the course of the Host-Town sponsorship at the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017. These games, taking place in Austria for the second time, will feature 2,700 athletes with intellectual disabilities from around the world. The Special Olympics World Winter Games will be held March 14-25 in the venues Graz, Schladming and Ramsau.

ams was the first company in Austria to sponsor an athletic team. More than 60 employees of ams, the so-called "ams heartbeat volunteers," are helping with the preparation and execution of the program, which starts March 14 with the welcome of the guests by the ams Organizing Committee at the Vienna Airport.

On Wednesday March 15, the U.S. athletes will visit the castle Riegersburg and the Zotter chocolate factory, and finish the day with dinner at the headquarters of ams AG. The evening’s hosts include ams management members, as well as special guests including representatives of Special Olympics Austria, Special Olympics International, and the U.S. Embassy in Vienna. On March 16, the athletes will return to their respective venues in Graz, Ramsau and Schladming to prepare for their competitions.
