Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Project manager role to lead multi-site and multi-cultural core teams of ~10 technical members in new product/technology development from RND to demonstration of technology building block, prototyping or mass production. End goal is to realize business case as approved by Project Selection Board.
  • Plans, directs and oversees overall project in order to deliver within scope, budget (cost & resources), on schedule and performance per specs.
  • Deliver accordance to project gates/milestone per defined company methodology and expected documentations.
  • Coordinating with the project team during product development phase and driving project review meetings (e.g. design and test review meetings). Proactively makes adjustments to manage expenditures and team resources.
  • Identify and evaluates in detail potential risks, critical paths with the project core team in the planning phase and establishes mitigation plans. Continue to review during execution.
  • Keeps the project within set budget. Monitor & analyze budget-expense to avoid massive overruns or underutilization.
  • Leads and steers team down a clear path to the final project completion. Cut down on inefficiencies. Balance and align goals and priorities between RnD and HVM, escalate as needed.
  • Surface problems proactively and feeding back relevant issues timely for attention eg to the development team(s). When required, take charge to lead team in solving complex issues and problems.
  • Tracks and prepare reports on project status to team and stakeholders. Maintain effective communications to minimize unwanted surprises with stakeholders and manage expectations. Main project interface to BL, customer (as required) and internal / external project partners.
  • Enforce disciplined documentation trails in the designated project depositories. Ensure adherence to relevant standards, process, and regulations.
  • Drives continuous improvement. Mentors and coaches core team members in the area of project execution. Shares project management experiences and lesson learnt/best practices within team and PM circles. Initiate improvements to system and processes.

Your education and experiences

  • BS/MS degree in engineering or a related discipline and/or have demonstrated increasing levels of technical management responsibilities.
  • Recommended PMI/PM + PMI/PgMP certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' of professional project management experience in waferfab semiconductor or related industry. Proven track record as Senior Project/Program Manager with a strong knowledge of project/program management/integration skill, systems and tools. Or can be considered, transfer from technical role that has successfully executed work packages and demonstrated technical leadership for teams in matrix organization.
  • Successful implementation track record on 2- 3 complex projects with moderate to high commercial cost and risk or on 1-2 multi-year programs.
  • Significant experience in development and technology transfers as well as on-going process/defect matching and performance improvement / complex technical problem solving is required.
  • Working experience with RnD and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) is required.
  • Prior people management with strong leadership is essential and strong technical depth in process/yield engineering is a must.
  • Experience with opto-semiconductors is added advantage for role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
