  • The division growth plan is setup around consumer, automotive & medical imaging as well as full service foundry. The Division team is a global with main locations in Graz (Austria), Antwerp (Belgium), Pavia (Italy), Valencia (Spain) and Funchal (Portugal) and has 350+ team members.
  • ams by numbers: 9,000 employees worldwide; serving more than 8,000 customers; 17 design centers across Europe, Asia and the US; >14 sales offices; 25+ sales channel partners; 3 focus areas: optical, imaging, audio
  • In this role you will:
  • Lead System Solutions Architecture definition for CMOS Image Sensors applications in the Mobile, Computing, Automotive, Industrial and Medical field
  • Establish, own and deploy System Concepts, System Architecture and System Simulation Methodologies and derive product concepts and architectures
  • Define products, through system simulation & prototyping, FRS, architecture, agreed with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Actively work with customers on determining the System Solution Specification for the next generation and the technical features, matching ams and customer constraints
  • Translate the System Solution Architecture in System FRS and components specification (Image Sensor, Optical Element, Packaging)
  • Lead collaboration projects with 3rd parties for technology and solutions development enhancing the solutions offering beyond silicon
  • Perform technology and architecture benchmarking on system level, trend awareness & consequence analysis, continuous competitive assessment
  • Continuous development of application know how and derive technology needs for these developments
  • Advice Segment Marketing Manager regarding Product Roadmap of Segment
  • Be the highest technical instance for all products and project in the Segment portfolio
  • Guide and support R&D during product development, review product and system level results
  • Position ams as a trusted advisor / thought leader in the designated areas at key customers
  • Support App and Product Engineering, Sales and Marketing regarding technical product and system level aspects
  • Reports to the Division-Head of Engineering

Your education and experiences

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in leading/driving system solutions architectures roadmaps in related CMOS Image Sensors applications in the Mobile, Computing, Automotive, Industrial and Medical field
  • Deep understanding of broad technology and system solution architecture, high and contagious curiosity
  • Strong background in system-level solution definition capabilities, including hardware and software
  • Proven track record of identifying and successfully developing new product and/or application solutions
  • Solid knowledge of the medical target imaging markets
  • Natural, broad technology leader with great communication skills and an inspirational, a high personal impact
  • Ability to link long term vision / ‘thinking big’ to short term choices
  • Furthermore:
  • You have drive, persistence and a self-starter with excellent communication, presentation and collaborative skills
  • You are fluent in English; German or Dutch is advantageous
  • You are willing to travel globally according to the needs of the role
  • The location of this role can be either: Antwerp (Belgium), Eindhoven (Netherlands) or Rapperswil (Switzerland)
