Your tasks and responsibilities
- Job description: Semiconductor defect characterization is key for ensuring high-quality optical sensors. The PhD will establish and operate lifetime and defect characterization measurement setups (e.g. DLTS) for the characterization of integrated photo diodes with a strong focus on surface defect measurements. Academic supervision of the PhD work will be done in collaboration with Mr. Michael Waltl at the Technical University of Vienna.
- Tasks & Responsibiities: Development of methods for characterization of defects in Si photo diodes; Implementation of partially custom-made measurement solutions; Analysis and evaluation of carrier lifetimes; Design of test structures to investigate behavior of building blocks and interfaces of photo diodes; Opto-electronic characterization of photo diodes; Physical modeling of photo diodes;
Your education and experiences
- Master Degree in Physics or Electronics at University Level; Good understanding of semiconductor device physics; Fluency in English; Good problem solving and communication skills;
- Additional knowledge in one or more of the following topics is of advantage: Knowledge in C/C++, Project R, Labview or Python; Knowledge in measurement techniques for microelectronics (MSM, C(V), DLTS, charge pumping etc.); Familiarity with wafer probers and instruments for microelectronics; Keithley instruments and scripting language LUA; TCAD device simulation.
