Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage and lead Technology Quality Engineering
  • Establish and maintain a high level Quality Engineering competency pool covering all ams technology areas (CMOS, VCSEL, Optical Elements, Assembly, etc.) to enable: - Reasonable support of peak Quality Engineering demands, which cannot be sufficiently covered out of the Divisions and Operations, in particular: a) PQE support for unplanned project opportunities b) Task Force support for unexpected quality excursions
  • Driving cross-learning and standardization (way of working, business processes, general quality requirements) across the ams Quality functions
  • Driving standardization of all ams technologies and definition of qualified building blocks, which in turn shall enable a high re-use factor, which in turn enables fast development cycles of innovative and robust products
  • Continuous improvement and harmonization way of working and business processes across ams Quality functions
  • Support Corporate M&A activities with Integration Activities, Contracts and Quality Agreements as needed
  • Act as pivot and facilitator for general Quality-related documents/contracts to align between the Quality functions, and to establish and maintain aligned “baseline requirements” profile to facilitate contract negotiations
  • Establish/expand and maintain Technology Reliability Engineering competency pool and infrastructure to: (a) define and perform reliability characterization and reliability modelling for technology building blocks for all ams technologies (CMOS, VCSEL, Optical Elements, Assembly, etc.); (b)support other Quality functions in definition of Technology-specific quality requirements

Your education and experiences

  • Minimum Masters Degree in Material Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics or related field
  • 5+ years experience in semiconductor industry in the field of Product Quality and/or Reliability Engineering
  • Experience in leading high-level engineering teams across multiple locations is strongly beneficial
  • Know-how of quality tools (FMEA's and 8-D reporting, ISO TS16949 and QS9000 Quality Standards)
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (self-driven, proactive, taking initiative, team player)
  • Excellent analytical problem solving skills, high self-organizing skills
  • Fluent English (verbal and written) with excellent customer interface skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment, stays cool and works efficiently under pressure
  • Willingness to travel
