Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsibility for all external wafer manufacturing sites (foundries) and wafer processing (coating) suppliers within ams portfolio
  • Leading a team of supplier quality engineers, which is globally distributed
  • Monitoring the overall performance of foundries with regards to production and technology development (analyzing production processes, identifying areas for improvements & setting up / reviewing relevant process KPIs)
  • Supporting major ramp ups in close cooperation with NPI teams
  • Supervising (partially onsite) of process technologies in close cooperation with process engineering & process R&D
  • Co-working with various engineering departments and product- / process reliability team regarding qualification of new devices, technologies and changes in existing process flows
  • Leading and managing task forces
  • Coordinating quality issues at suppliers and internal ams sites
  • Performing process and quality audits following IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 standards
  • Preparing and attending customer audits / visits at supplier sites
  • Preparing and attending internal audits
  • Managing disposition of critical material at suppliers
  • Driving continuous improvement programs to establish predictable and reliable manufacturing capabilities at ams wafer manufacturing suppliers
  • Ensuring that products, services & procedures are fit for purpose and meet both external & internal requirements and customer expectations

Your education and experiences

  • Technical degree (Master, equivalent or higher) in physics, electrical engineering, material science or similar
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent (inter-cultural) communication skills and good appearance in front of suppliers & customers
  • High organizational skills, team player mindset & management skills
  • Capability to succeed in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced English skills (spoken & written)
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad in / with an international team
  • Experience in semiconductor industry, focus on wafer manufacturing, process engineering and supplier management
  • Quality management know-how & automotive background (8D, FMEA, 5WHY, VDA6.3, IATF 16949, etc.)
  • Experience in optical coating technologies, VCSEL technologies & CMOS technologies beneficial
  • Experience in physical failure analysis, electron microscopy, test of semiconductor devices beneficial
