Your tasks and responsibilities

  • This role is critical to the development of light sensors. This person in this position is required to have a strong education and experience in optical engineering or physics with a concentration in light and color space science. This role is required to add the deep knowledge about light behavior to the design and application teams so their work fully considers and aligns with the physics at both the device and system levels.
  • Works closely with the optical sensor silicon design team
  • Guides the design team in understanding of optics, light and color science
  • Develops innovative solutions to the most difficult optical problems
  • New product and patent proposals
  • Full optical evaluation and measurement of optical sensor ICs and generation of evaluation reports
  • Development of electro-mechanical measurement systems for optical sensor characterization
  • Team process improvement
  • Coordinate directly with other engineering teams both local and internationally

Your education and experiences

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional engineering or research team experience
  • Extensive experience and study in the areas of optical engineering, light and color space science
  • Knowledgeable in the engineering process and use of optical filters
  • Experience designing and implementing custom measurement and evaluation systems for use in an optical lab
  • Strong math skills
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with modeling tools such as MATLAB, TracePro, etc
  • Experience with designing optical stack simulations
  • Experience on Office/Excel for such applications as lab data analysis and reporting
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing
  • Self-starter, proactive, and self-sufficient in problem solving and accomplishment of tasks
  • Hands-on SolidWork CAD experience
  • Knowledge of script languages (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Basic experience with mechanical system design
  • Experience leading or organizing the day-to-day work of small teams (3-5 people)
