Your tasks and responsibilities

  • The Electrical Engineer in Applications is a position required as part of the optical sensor development process. This position brings the practical, field-facing and customer point of view to the design team. This position is responsible for all lab automation system developments in cooperation with the mechanical design and software engineering. This role also brings the required specialist knowledge of system-level optical and light science to the design team to ensure these areas are fully consider
  • Drafting application notes, articles and presentations
  • Setup of product presentations and trainings for customers and internal staff
  • Specification of reference applications for target markets including system architectures, circuits and components
  • Development of PCB reference designs including testing, characterization and validation
  • Performance analysis of ams and competitive products. Tear down of end user devices including evaluation reports
  • Involvement on all technical aspects of products in production, and therefore, being an integral part of the definition and development of future products
  • Support Marketing and Engineering in work statement preparation
  • Full optical evaluation and measurement of optical sensor ICs and generation of evaluation reports
  • Development of electro-mechanical measurement systems for optical sensor characterization
  • Team process improvement
  • New product and patent proposals

Your education and experiences

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional engineering team experience
  • Experience in optoelectronics & measurement systems design for optical sensors
  • Knowledge of embedded systems; especially in the mobile phone space
  • Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium
  • Hands-on digital electronic circuit design experience
  • Experienced at testing and characterization in an electronics lab
  • Self-starter, and self-sufficient in problem solving and accomplishing tasks
  • Experience on Office/Excel for such applications as lab data analysis and reporting
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing
  • Highly flexible, extroverted personality, inspiring and motivating
  • Good with customers; excellent communicator
  • Experience with applications engineering for a semiconductor company
  • Knowledge of script languages (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Basic experience with mechanical system design
  • Basic experience with software programming of embedded systems in C or C++
  • Experience leading or organizing the day-to-day work of small teams (3-5 people)
