Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Mentor and oversee a small group of application engineers on their day-to-day work and professional development;
  • Technical interface to Marketing, Product Management, FAE, FSE and customers (Level-3 and design-in support);
  • Daily interaction with AE and FAE. Assignment of work packages and setting of priorities on Level-3 support(customers, design-in projects) based on ams GC Strategy;
  • Participate in reference designs from Hardware/Optical design management perspectives. Responsible for optical architecture and design decisions and potentially extending to overall hardware system architecture;
  • Optical Lab management. Responsible to optical system simulations and outputs;
  • Performance analysis of ams and competitive products, including tear-downs and comparative analysis
  • Technical documentations drafting incl. specification of reference, application notes, articles, presentations and training materials for both internal staff and external customers;
  • Project planning on reference designs and Level-3 customer project design-in supports, with full alignment with GC application team, regional sales/marketing teams, business line stakeholders;
  • Project management incl. project status review, identify key issues of the project and initiate risks;
  • Manage external partners/vendors/suppliers on reference designs and joint developments;
  • Travel up to 30%

Your education and experiences

  • Education background with minimum BSc Optics, Optical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics. Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) is preferred;
  • People technical management experience is must to have. 8+ years in similar role and 2+ years engineering management experience;
  • Must be hands on;
  • Having the big picture of technical concept, capability to develop detailed technical specification as required;
  • Solid knowledge and experience in optical system and/or optical sensing;
  • Strong theoretical understanding on optics;
  • Fluent in English language both oral and written;
  • Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong leadership skills, result oriented with a drive to win;
  • People person and team player;
  • Ambitious, energetic and an entrepreneur.
